Who we are
The IAH-LEB is the Lebanese national chapter of the International Association of Hydrogeologists (IAH). IAH is a scientific and educational charitable organization for scientists, engineers, water managers and other professionals working in the fields of groundwater resource planning, management and protection.
Mission and aim
The IAH-Lebanese Chapter (IAH-LEB) is dedicated to promoting the understanding and responsible use of groundwater resources in Lebanon, with a focus on sustainability. IAH-LEB goal is to become a leading national society in the field of hydrogeology, serving as a trusted source of groundwater information and a platform for knowledge sharing. IAH-LEB fosters education, learning, and research on groundwater issues in Lebanon. Additionally, it acts as the voice of Lebanese IAH members within the parent organization and the global hydrogeological community, ensuring their interests align with broader IAH objectives. Moreover, IAH-Leb strives to connect Lebanese hydrogeologists with their international counterparts, fostering collaboration and shared learning.
About IAH
The International Association of Hydrogeologists (IAH) is an international society in the fields of hydrogeology and groundwater . The society has over 4,000 members worldwide, including researchers and engineers, and is run by a council elected by the members, as well as national chapters, an international committee council, and a headquarters secretariat in the UK. The society’s mission is to contribute to the realization of sustainable utilization and conservation by scientifically understanding and finding solutions to groundwater-related problems around the world.
